An example of a perfect classic Indonesian bean. A composite blend of Arabica grown in 3 seprate regions of Java. Jampit, Kallisat, and Pancer have been producing very bold and intense coffees grown in rich volcanic soil with an ample supply of water for hundreds of years. These beans are slow roasted to a very dark profile. Notes of smokey campfire, burnt sugar caramel, mollasses, and cocoa blend together to exeplify the essence of BOLD and thick like a funky coffee syrup.  Aromas abound with the presence of burnt cedar, prunes, and caramel. A muted  acidity and an exceptionally heavy body/mouth feel make for a very satisfying experience. Perfect evening coffee that melds well with red wine and semi-sweet chocolate.

The same beans as the XDark roast Java "Jampit, Kallisat, Pancer" grown Arabica blend but roasted to a medium "City" roast with only a sparkling trace of oil on the beans surface. The lighter roast pattern brings out a much more dynamic presense with a more floral and citrus fruit character.  Crisp, bright and clean can describe the aromatics in the dry grind.  Notes of vanilla and Toffee make for a pleasing morning olfactory wake up.  The brewed cup maintains the "cake-like" vanilla and sugared Toffee entwined with a solid nose of orange blossom and grapes. A more lively acidity and well balanced earthy tannic mouth feel with a moderate to heavy body make for a much more intreactive experience. Lighter roast mean a bit more buzz..great to wake up to a not-to-heavy refreshing and clean cup that has a wonderful long lingering finish that will carry through to the next cup.
